Interior design : my other hobby

Apart from cooking and sports that occupy most of my free time, I have another very strong passion for objects and interior design. When I first move to Dubai, 2 years ago, I have been impressed by the size of the apartments and how bright they were, however, I also been quite impressed by their neutrality and had this feeling of they were all the same. After Paris and Rome apartments with molding on the ceiling, windows barely closing and not straight wooden floor, I can of struggle to find any charm to these all white huge surfaces.

I spend hours hanging out in the different malls to find some cool boutiques not too mainstream and I have to admit I did not find everything I wanted... but lately the interior design scene has been picking up here and became edgier and more affordable. Even tho some of my stuffs come from the different places I visited, I also find some great deal here and manage to turn the new place I moved in from a super anonymous room to a cosy studio.

My style is a mix of Ikea basics with other stuff made with natural materials. I love wood and ethnic fabrics. I do like mixing natural colors with a touch of fancier one and add a lot of pictures, frames, small objects and books.

Some of my fav places to shop in Dubai are listed down here :
