My name is Magda. Born in Asia in a pluri-cultural family, I call Paris my hometown and Dubai my city for now 3 years.

Growing up, I never eat anything but wholefood harvested in the green French countryside. My mother, a Doctor trained in nutrition, was making sure to go twice a week to the local farmer market, which are literally everywhere in France, to fill up the fridge with fresh locally grown products. She even refused to let us eat at our School canteen and was picking us, me an my brother, everyday at lunch time, to feed us at home.

When I move to Paris to study at University, I kept this habit of going to do my grocery at the Farmer Market twice a week and cook my own food. I never really fancy any junk food, neither soda or frozen pre-cooked meals not being used to any of these.

I then started working and traveling a lot for my job and indeed, started eating less and less home and more hotel or airport food, which is not always the healthiest option. Indeed, I put on weight even if I did not change my workout routine, which has always been pretty intense.
Moving for 1 year to Italy for a sedentary job, I get back on my old food habits and almost immediately got back to my normal weight.
But when I move to Dubai, the extra kilos stroke back. On top of working like crazy & travelling all the time, I had to get used to a less active lifestyle. Here we do not climb the stair, we do not walk, we do not clean home... all these common activities we have in Europe and which help you naturally burn a considerable amount of energy. On top of that, affordable junk food is only one call away from your door step, very convenient after a long day at work or a late flight.

Tired of seeing my body changing and my energy level dropping, I started reading more and more about nutrition and the benefit of wholefood and quickly realized why my body was so messed up. I decided to stop ordering or eating outside (even if I still go to the restaurant from time to time) and cook most of my food myself. Magically I dropped 4 kgs in no time without lowering the amount of food I was eating. Remember, it is not about how much you eat but more about what you eat.

Looking around me and at my own experience, I realized how terrible eating habits are becoming worldwide but also in the country I live in. The "coup de grace" was these two kids in the elevator of my building heading to school and eating McDonalds french fries for breakfast.

Change people health habits and educate them about food became a kindda mission. I opened this blog and my Instagram to show another way of eating is possible, even in Dubai. The purpose was to share some easy recipes and tips to eat better and to hopefully inspire some people to follow the same path towards a healthier lifestyle where balance is the key word. I do not believe in diet, I do not believe in food trends but in a active lifestyle where regular and moderate exercise and wholesome food have a preponderant place, along with a positive thinking and sustainable behaviors. This blog, mostly focus on food and recipes is a reflect of my lifestyle, hope you'll enjoy it !
